Do-It-Yourself Toys

Here are some ideas for toys that you can make yourself. Remember, care should be taken that the toys are suitable for the type and size of bird. Also, birds should always be supervised with toys.:

  • popsicle sticks from the craft store
  • baby spoons
  • rings cut from empty paper towel rolls
  • plastic keys for babies
  • small paper cups
  • paper towels crumpled into a ball
  • metal baby rattles (for larger birds)
  • blank index cards woven in the bars of their cage
